My 3 months here in Boston

I finished all 3 rotations here in Boston.
April: Neurology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
May : Pediatric Radiology at Children's Hospital Boston
June: Pediatric Cardiology at Children's Hospital Boston
I learned a lot of things, I made a lot of friends, and I changed a lot thruogh these 3 months.

First of all, I learned how to learn, how to improve myself.
This was my main aim for coming here. I knew that the American people are good at thinking. I wanted to figure out how I can train myself to become a doctor who can think. A smart doctor.
Though I am not able to think as much as they can, I think I got a clue. It will take time. But I will be that kind of doctor.

I would like to declare here again, that my ideal doctor is;
A doctor who has knowledge, skill, and the Omoiyari (like a nurse) at the same time. Who can consider about the patient's "life".

Secondary, I think I am more confident about myself, which makes me able to live and do things in my own pace and way. The fact that I was able to go through the 3 months here, made a big difference. I lived by myself and was able to do the rotations in English.

I was always comparing myself with others. I always ignored the good things or the things I achieved. I always tried to find the things about me that should be improved. This way of thinking makes me impossible to live and do things in my own pace and way.

But now that I finished my 3 months here, I think I am more confident about myself. I'm not sayting that I am a really good girl, smart, or anything like that. I just feel that I am no one else but myself. It is OK being me.

Finally, I would like to thank all the people who helped me prepare coming here, and who helped me be here; doctors and other medical staff here in Boston, doctors back in Japan, teachers and seniors who trained us for 8 months, 7 other members, my friends back in Japan, new friends I met here, family, and so on.

I really appriciate the fact that I was here for 3 months.
Thank you.
